Joseph B. Fares, MD, received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, and completed an internal medicine residency program and a fellowship in gastroenterology at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, Seton Hall University.

He is board certified by the American Board of Gastroenterology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. His professional memberships include the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Dr. Fares served as associate clinical professor of the University of Balamand Medical School, Balamand, Lebanon. He has authored many journal articles and received numerous awards, including AMA Recognition in 1998 and 2001.
